Material Data Sheet
Material: CELAZOLE® PBI
PolybenzimidazoleCelazole® PBI has the best mechanical properties to 800°F and also provides the highest mechanical properties of any plastic above 400°F. Celazole® provides the highest heat deflection temperature of 800°F, with a continuous service capability of 750°F in inert environments. It also has the lowest coefficient of thermal expansion an highest compressive strength of all unfilled plastics. This material has proven itself in the semiconductor industry and also works excellent as a thermal insulator. However the machining of this material is very difficult and costly.
