Five weeks is our normal lead time, based on material availability. However in some cases lead times can be improved to meet your requirements. Please call our sales department for details.
No we only machine plastic components.
We only machine complete parts from plastic Materials.
The only metal machining that we do is aluminum, brass and bronze, however in most cases we stick to only machining plastic parts.
We do have capabilities of machining prototype parts. However lead times may be longer than a prototype machine shop.
In most cases jobs are quoted in the same day or following day. However in some cases material pricing or outside processing may slow down the process.
Tamshell can produce many different types of plastic components; it is hard to say specifically what types of parts we manufacture. However we will be happy to discuss any application that you may have.
We do not sell raw material. We recommend that you go to a plastic distributor if you are just looking for material. If you are looking for material and finished product please call us about machining your parts.

If you are looking for information on having us machine a part for you we would be happy to help you; however if you need help machining your own application we will have limited information since our procedures are proprietary.
New Design and Invention Ideas

- 6. We are in the process of developing a prototype for a patented flexible press/lid for a food can. Please provide information with regards to your capabilities and costs associated with sample product materials, mold production, prototype production, and other manufacturing costs.
In most cases a part like this would cost too much for a machine shop to produce. Your best bet would be to stick with a standard off the shelf item.
Our recommendation is to find a prototype shop that can produce a concept design using SLA or some other type of prototype manufacturing. This way you can get an idea of what you want the part to look like. Then you can work with a machine shop to produce your first sample run of a higher quantity.

Please call us so that we can review your application and estimated usage for the part. This way we can determine the most economical way of producing your parts.
In most cases this type of part would need to be molded or formed through another processes other than machining. Best bet would be to modify something that is off the shelf at your local supply company.
This is not our type of production we would recommend finding a molding house that would have more information on what you are requesting.
